New NSW road rule 

From 1 September 2018 when you see a flashing red or blue light, prepare to pass it at 40km/hr.  That's no matter which side of the road it's on, unless there is a median strip. Otherwise, penalties apply: $448 fine, 3 demerit points.  Find out more 

Toll point testing on the M4

Please ignore the beep at new toll gantries: Homebush Bay Drive eastbound on-ramp, Homebush Bay Drive westbound off-ramp and Powells Creek on-ramp. Charges don't apply during testing which will continue until the New M4 tunnel opens in 2019.  

E-way fee change 1 July

  • Visa and Mastercard credit card  0.74% of transaction amount
  • Visa and Mastercard debit card 0.49% of transaction amount 

Five demerits for illegal phone use behind the wheel

From September 2018 the demerits for illegal phone use increase.  New NSW law means camera-based technology can be used to enforce this.  It’s pretty simple.  Unless your car is parked, don’t even touch your phone while behind the wheel. Find out more
